9 Shot Analysis

I have chosen to analyse 'Love You So' By Delilah. I have picked 9 shots to discuss the micro areas that have been used and how the artist is represented within these shots.

We can see in these shots that Delilah uses a lot of close ups. They are of herself mostly to show her assets and unique make up, but also there are close ups of Delilah and the male character to show the intimacy between them. There are examples of medium shots of the male character facing the camera, which tells us he is a main part in this video and he's who she is singing about. We are also shown examples of medium shots of Delilah to show the audience her unique outfits such as the feather shall and unusual jewellery. Examples of longshots are used when her and the man are holding each other close, this shows us their casual outfits and also shows us when they are not dressed at all. This tells us they have some sort of relationship. At the beginning of the video there is also an extreme close up of an eye with the pupils getting larger. After this we are shown images of hearts beating, flowers opening and happy people meeting each other, this concept of images tells us that she was happy at the beginning and a relationship was blossoming. The rest of the images throughout the video continue to tell us the rest of the narrative.
We can see a two shot of Delilah and the male character standing back to back, showing us a relationship between the two of them and that they might be angry at each other or not together anymore.

Fast paced editing is used a lot throughout this video. An example of this is used in one of these medium shots of Delilah, where she moves her arms up and down leaving an image of them behind as she does so. This almost makes her look bird like which matches her feather outfit and unusual white eye make up. There is an example of fast paced editing and a short shot duration of Delilah and the male character spinning round extremely fast whilst being undressed and holding each other closely. This tells us their relationship may be happening very quickly and conveys urgency.
We can see that a green screen has been used in this video as throughout the whole video the background doesn't change.

We can see that Delilah is represented in this video how she usually is, with her unique/casual clothing as she is dressed in a feather shall, unusual make up, big prints, hair and jewellery, but also her casual clothing she sometimes wears as we see her in a white t-shirt and denim shorts. Her tight/small outfits throughout the video show sexual appeal.
